The Engineer

Marcello Muzzi

Marcello Muzzi was born in San Severino Marche, where he currently resides, in 1956. After graduating from the Marche Polytechnic University with a degree in civil and construction engineering, he worked for ten years at Poltrona Frau, a leading high-end furniture company in Marche, where, as a project manager, he participated in prestigious international furniture projects, including that of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

Since the year two thousand, he has been engaged in freelance work in the field of construction, with particular dedication to the renovation of historic buildings, combining technical knowledge with special attention to the original characters of building bodies.

Ever since he was a boy, he has cultivated a deep passion for the history, architecture and art of the Macerata area. A very active member of several cultural associations, he offers his contribution to the knowledge and appreciation of the town of San Severino by organizing guided tours and participating, as a speaker, in conferences on the subject. In 2014 he wrote a book on the castles of San Severino, which received wide acclaim among readers, local and otherwise, for the historical insights and discursive nature of the writing.

A lover of music, in its various genres, he has been playing electric bass since the age of sixteen and has participated in several non-professional ensembles, with public performances in theaters and squares.
