Le Càgnore” 2023 – A tribute to the earth, a blend that tells a story
We are happy to present “Le Càgnore” 2023, the first bottle produced of the new vintage: a wine born from a deep connection with the land that hosts us and proudly bears its name.
A blend that combines tradition and identity
“Le Càgnore” is the result of a skillful combination of Vernaccia Nera, Montepulciano and Sangiovese: a meeting that best expresses the typicality of the Marche’s native grapes with the aromatic and structural complexity of the great red varieties of Central Italy.
It is born among the hills of San Severino Marche, in our historic vineyards in the hamlet of Cagnore. Here, tradition is intertwined with modern winemaking techniques, resulting in an authentic, elegant and recognizable red, the fruit of territory, passion and expertise.
Manual harvest, careful winemaking
The grapes are hand-picked between the end of September and the last week of October, in small crates to preserve their integrity. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks for about 20 days, during which all natural balance is respected.
A 12-month aging in steel follows, with continuous bâtonnage to enrich the wine’s structure and smoothness. Before reaching you, “Le Càgnore” rests 6 months in bottle, to acquire harmony and roundness.
One name, one identity
It is not just a wine. It is a tribute.
“Le Càgnore” is named after the very hamlet of Cagnore, which has been home to our vineyards and Cellar for generations. We wanted to call it that because that is what the locals have always affectionately called their land: “Le Càgnore.” A name that tells of belonging, history, roots.
A glass of Le Càgnore 2023 is a journey: among the Filari of San Severino, in the hands that harvest the grapes, in the slow time of the Cellar, in the living memory of a land that continues to tell its story, vintage after vintage.
